Just wanted to share these...

The first is a short series of short stories based on Tom Waits songs that have been read out on Radio 4 this week. Specifically, 'Come On Up To The House', 'Muriel' and 'Step Right Up'. I set off nice and early for my train down to Paris on Friday and the trip all went off without a hitch. My rudimentary French saw me through just fine and I checked into my hostel and found the theatre, Le Grand Rex, without incident ( Read more... )

I'll be posting more at a later date, but I just wanted to say that I'm back from Paris safely and it... he... Wow.  Tom Waits is a master showman and it was worth every penny spent getting down there just to be able to see him. :o)

So... Tomorrow I'll be setting off for Paris to see Tom Waits.  And it's about time.  I'm really excited about this, but a little nervous as well since I'll be going on my own and don't speak more than a few phrases of French.  I'm sure it'll be fine though ( Read more... )

In regard to yesterday's post, things have been a little rough lately. Allie's trouble with RSI seems to be getting worse which is causing stress on both of us and in her work which makes things seem a little grey and murky.
